Squirrel-Proofing the Room
By the time we gave Buddy the room to himself, he was weaned, starting to chew everything he could get his teeth on such as peeling paint, phone power cord, phone cord, digital card reader, laptop, plastic zipper things on my bag. He was also getting "feisty". He loved to play fight, and to run up and down and all around us (we were trees I guess). It is not very pleasant if one is not wearing thick clothes. When we moved him into the room, Draven had to tape all the corners, as the tape deterred him from eating the wall. He would manage to find places we missed, but otherwise it was effective.

In the end the arrangement work really well. He would come out for a while everyday and be played with, but spent most of the day by himself in his room. This kept him from becoming too attached to us, but allowed for some interaction still. Often when I opened the door to the room, he would run over and jump on me, whether or not I wanted him to.

Some notes and observations...
