Dealing with a Broken Leg
In all my surfing on the net, I had recalled seeing a picture of a squirrel with a cast on, so I sent off an e-mail to a squirrel rehabber. While waiting for a reply, I phoned local vet hospitals about putting casts on animals, but of course they said they wouldn't do it unless it was through the Wildlife Center. I then at least had some knowledge had the Wildlife Center called us. I got a reply to my e-mail and then got on the phone with the rehabber. After Draven took a few pictures to send of our baby, she verified that it's leg was broken, but then told me that the leg will heal on it's own, if you limit the baby's climbing. Sure enough, about a week later it was as good as new.

Sadly, I procrastinated with taking pictures, and they grow fast, so the picture in the corner is one of a few that we have from when we first got him. That was one of the pictures we sent to the rehabber.
