The Beginning
What do you do when a baby squirrel with a broken leg tumbles into your life? I'll tell you what Draven and I did.

I had gone to work and was told there was a baby squirrel in the bucket just outside the door. He had been left crawling around the yard to see if the mother would hear his piteous cries and come get him, but she never came, and he was next seen making his way across the street. Lucky for him, it is a one way street and not too busy. When my employer went out on the street to fetch him, the baby crawled halfway up the inside of his pant leg. So until I came by, he was left in the safety of a bucket with some peanut butter to lick.

When I saw him, and saw his leg was hurt, I was afraid that he would bite me because of the pain. It took me a little while to use direct contact with him because of that. I took him home with me, fed him some soymilk and crushed rice crispies until I researched what a proper baby squirrel diet was.
